EMERGENCY SERVICE (subject to availability) - Call 604-590-6098, phones are usually monitored after hours, so please leave a message. OUR FLAT RATE SPECIALS ARE LISTED BELOW for shop services, otherwise we charge by the hour, rounded to the nearest 15 minute interval. We accept cash or cheque with proper identification. Shop services - $60/hour Onsite services - $80/hour Overtime (After hours, Weekends & Holidays) - Double time Contracted services - Discounts may be available Rush Fees - A $90 Rush Fee will be added for priority services (rush and emergency service). If service is delayed because we have to wait for parts, the rush fee still applies because your priority service resumes as soon as parts arrive. MINIMUM ONSITE CHARGES (Businesses) - A one-hour minimum charge applies to businesses within our 3 main service areas. Onsite services are subject to availability. $149 FLAT RATE - One account, one hard drive running Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7. Add $30 for each additional account, drive and partion. Add $60 if it's a Dell. Most companies have their computers maintained on a regular basis. Home users tend to neglect their computers until it becomes unusable, then they wonder why it sometimes costs more to get it fixed. At this price you can afford to be smart, and have your computer tuned up at least once a year. It takes many hours to do a thorough job and do it right, so plan on leaving it with us for several days. That's a fast turnover compared to most other places, but if you need it ASAP, we can usually offer emergency priority service. You get to jump the que, and a $90 rush fee will be added to your bill to make up for our loss of sleep. TUNE-UP SPECIAL INCLUDES: Blow out dust Check fans and connections Check BIOS settings and reconfigure as required Test the hard drive, memory (RAM), motherboard and processor (CPU) Clean the registry, system, and Internet Explorer caches Reset Internet Explorer and Windows Folders Repair Windows file system and optimize data Repair Windows system files and registry errors Uninstall known parasitic programs, resource hogs and redundant programs Update programs as required Update drivers as required Update Windows as required (Valid product key required. If update function needs repairing, add $30 Update Office as required (Valid product key required. Run multiple remote anti-malware scans Install, update, and run multiple security programs and tune up utilities Optimize startups and performance settings Test audio and video playback Set a restore point Clean the case Please note - Malware proliferation is out of control, and the companies that make security software, admit that they cannot detect every infection. This means that your security and the ongoing performance, stability, functionality or compatibility of your system cannot be guaranteed. To clean your data properly requires multiple, top-rated anti-malware programs, which means to do it right, we need it for at least 3 business days. Drive-by Infections, viruses, worms, trojan horses, rootkits, backdoors, botnets, keystroke loggers, grayware, spyware, adware, dialers, joke programs, remote access tools, crimeware and other malicious and unwanted software are common. May 2007 - One in ten web pages scrutinised by search giant Google contained malicious code (BBC News) December 2007 - As much malware produced in 2007 as in the previous 20 years altogether (F-Secure) 2008 Q4 - Another record breaking year in the growth of malicious software (F-Secure) If a computer still has problems after the procedures above have been completed, additional service may be required, and additional charges will apply. For example, nearly every computer we see is abused, neglected, and badly infected. We cannot tell if our exhaustive repairs will fix all the damages, until the repairs are completed. We may find that despite all our work, your system was just too damaged. At that point we would have to run backup procedures, low-level format your hard drive, do a complete Windows install (see below), and then migrate and restore your data, all of which is billable. Or... The best solution is to have Windows installed on a new hard drive. Your old data gets scanned for malware and your hard drive is tested. If you have an adequate power supply, and your hard drive passes, it gets connected as a second drive The cost is $90, plus the cost of whatever hard drive you choose. This also includes restoring Desktop items, Favorites, Documents, Email folders and Address Book for one account. Add $30 for each additional account. Data services such as data cleaning, recovery, retrieval, backup, migration, and restoration cost extra. We do not guaranttee the integrity or functionality of your data. All data services are billable reguardless of outcome. Obviously it will take at many hours to do a proper thorough service, so plan on leaving it with us for at least 3 - 5 business days. That's a fast turnover compared to most other places, but if you need it ASAP, we can usually offer emergency priority service. MICROSOFT WINDOWS INSTALLATION (shop service)
$99 FLAT RATE. Add $60 if it's a Dell. Check all fans and connections Test the hard drive, memory (RAM), motherboard and processor (CPU) Format and partition the hard drive Install and activate Windows (valid product key required) Install Windows service packs, patches, security updates, etc. (If Microsoft's update function fails, add $30 to repair) Optimize Windows file system Resource and install drivers and software for internal hardware Install and update multiple security programs (home users only) Install multiple useful tools, utilities, office, media programs and system enhancements (add-ons, plug-ins, etc.) Set restore point Blow out dust and wipe down chassis Data services such as data cleaning, recovery, retrieval, backup, migration, and restoration cost extra. Please see Service Fees below. ALSO AVAILABLE: Software Installation - We can install, update and configure additional software programs for you. Installation disks and license keys will have to be provided, purchased or resourced as required. User Accounts and E-mail Accounts - We can configure your user and e-mail accounts for you. Email Account login information will have to be provided or resourced as required (available from your Internet Service Provider or Internet Presence provider). User Settings and Preferences - We can configure user setting and preferences to your liking. You will have to be present to tell us what your preferences are. Peripherals and Accessories - We can set up your scanners, printers, digital cameras, etc., resource and install the latest drivers and software, test everything, and show you how to use it. Hardware, installation disks and license keys will have to be provided, purchased or resourced as required.
