Then call for a free 1-hour consultation and bring your materials. Pick a Domain Name - You need a domain name (www.yourcompany.ca). We offer a full range of Domain Management Services. We can provide consultation, make recommendations, check for trademark violations, perform searches, check registration requirements, register, transfer, reserve, renew and manage your domain names as desired. Most service providers charge you every month for these services. We only charge a fee when service is required, which is usually only once every few years. Build a Web Site - We can develop all the "eye candy" and all the "bells and whistles" you want. We can also develop the "behind-the-scenes" functionality of things like e-mail, navigation, forms, etc. We can test and publish your site, and show you how to work with it. You must provide the actual content and remember, search engines like big sites. Add E-commerce Functionality - If you want to sell products or services online, you'll need some form of e-commerce. If you only have a few products, we can develop a web site for you that allows visitors to make purchases and pay for them online with their charge card via PayPal. If you want to sell a lot of products online, you'll need a database system. You'll want one that is cost-effective and easy to maintain. You also want one that functions on any platform. Your site will not show up in a search if you fail to optimize, promote and maintain your site on a regular basis. These ongoing processes are crucial if you want people to find your site. You need code that tells search engines to crawl and index content from your site, and return to do it again. You need reciprocal links to increase your site's ranking. You need to submit your site to search engines and list it with online directories. You need to constantly update content, add new pages and validate the code. All these are absolutely mandatory if you want your site to show up in any search. If you let your site collect dust, it will disappear into oblivion. You probably have an idea of what you want your site to look like, but you probably don't know what you need to make it do what you want. We can give you an estimate, but not a quote. A few customers keep changing their minds about what they want, or they request additional features. This usually means drastic changes have to be made. We can make these changes as long as you can accommodate the increase in time and cost for the extra work. Ok, so give me a rough estimate - No problem, but first you'll have to provide us with information about features, capabilities, services, forms, database development, animations, graphics, scripting, navigation, number of pages, etc. The packages below can give you a rough idea of what it might cost to develop the "eye candy". Packages can be customized, and additional features can be added as needed. You will need to provide us with the actual content (wording, photos, etc.). When providing content, remember that you are the one who gets in trouble if your content violates copyright laws. We can set PayPal up to add a single shipping charge if desired, and a single tax rate. The shipping charge can be a flat rate or percentage of the cost. When visitors place an order, the product's name, price & quantity ordered gets forwarded to PayPal's shopping cart where shipping and tax are added automatically. The tax can be applied to just the cost of the item, or to both the cost and any shipping charge. **Client-Side PayPal Calculator - Same as above, but visitors can also select options from drop-down lists, radio buttons and check boxes. The client-side calculator is configured to dynamically change the price and description that gets forwarded to PayPal's shopping cart. For example, visitors could select different sizes and colors from drop-down lists, they could add multiple options with check boxes, and they could choose a single option from 2 or more radio buttons. The price and description that gets forwarded to PayPal's shopping cart changes based on what the visitor selects. There is a limit to the amount of characters that PayPal will display. Working With PayPal's Limitations - If you don't want to pay thousands of dollars for a custom database and shopping cart, you are stuck with the limited options that PayPal's shopping cart offers. PayPal's shopping cart may not fit your requirements. For example, PayPal's shopping cart can only accommodate one tax rate and one shipping charge. You could have our calculator apply different tax rates and shipping charges based on what the visitor selects, but visitor could select the wrong options. If you check each order and have solutions for issues like this, then it might not be a problem. If you need things like multiple shipping options with rates that are automatically calculated from the visitors address, you definitely need a custom database and shopping cart.
